Pathways to employment in the Canadian digital economy for newcomers to Canada.

 

ICTC's Work Ready program provides employment supports for internationally educated ICT professionals, helping their transition into the Canadian digital economy.

The Work Ready program includes:

  • Individual job readiness counselling, including resume review, one-on-one coaching, interview tips and techniques.
  • ICTC’s Global Onboarding of Talent, an online career community for ICT professionals who are newcomers to Canada. Here you can visit employer and regional booths, access videos and other resources to assist you on your career journey in Canada, and much more!
  • Monthly webinars, providing ICT labour market information, regional and employer spotlights, and job-seeker topics, such as how to maximize your LinkedIn profile and starting your own business.
  • Finding Success in Canada mentoring and other networking events, where you can connect with other ICT professionals and Canadian employers.

Eligibility:

Eligible clients are already in Canada (except those in Quebec) for 5 years or less, and include:

  • All permanent residents, including resettled refugees.
  • People who are already approved to become permanent residents and who have been informed by a letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
     

Additional eligibility requirement:

Experience as an information and communications technology (ICT) professional who identifies with the following approved Government of Canada National Occupation Classification or NOC:

  • Business Systems specialists - 2122
  • Computer and information system managers - 20012
  • Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers) - 21311
  • Computer systems developers and programmers - 21230
  • Cybersecurity specialists - 21220
  • Data scientists - 21211
  • Database analysts and data administrators - 21223
  • Information systems specialists - 21222
  • Software developers and programmers - 21232
  • Software engineers and designers - 21231
  • Web designers - 21233
  • Web developers and programmers - 21234
